TextFX AI Tool Overview
This week’s hot new AI tool you need to check out is called TextFX! It’s designed to help rappers, writers, and other creative wordsmiths come up with new ideas and expand their processes.
TextFX was created through a collaboration between Google and the rapper Lupe Fiasco. It has 10 different tools, each designed to explore creative possibilities with language. Some tools help you develop rhymes, while others let you remix sentences in different styles.
The engine driving TextFX is none other than Google’s new PaLM 2 language model, accessible via the PaLM API. This illustrates how you can tap into Google’s latest AI to build creative apps. And here’s an interesting tidbit: this initiative is under Google’s “Lab Sessions,” where they blend their latest tech with forward-thinkers to explore its capabilities. It’s commendable to see their dedication to enhancing human creativity and workflows with AI.
To use the PaLM API, you need an API key from Google. The API gives you access to their huge language models to build things like TextFX. There’s also a platform called MakerSuite that makes it easy to prototype AI apps.
And a big part of why TextFX exists is because of Lupe Fiasco. He’s an award-winning rapper and now an MIT professor teaching linguistics! His passion for language helped inspire the creation of TextFX.
Like all AI tech, the output isn’t always spot-on. However, Google is actively refining it, and TextFX leverages analytics for continuous improvement.
